The QuickDrift System
QuickDrift is a patented fly-fishing system that helps anglers prep, store, and change pre-rigged tippet setups faster on the water. It uses Drift Spools, a QuickDrift Magnetic Storage Shell, and Floating or Sinking Quick Connects to keep your next setup ready when conditions change.
Each QuickDrift System includes 1 QuickDrift Magnetic Storage Shell, 24 Drift Spools, 4 Floating Quick Connects, 4 Sinking Quick Connects, and a cross-body strap for one-handed access.
Yes. The QuickDrift System is patented.
No. QuickDrift is not just a fly box. It is a rig-management and quick-change system built around pre-rigged tippet setups. The Drift Spools store your setups, the magnetic shell keeps them organized, and the Quick Connect helps you change presentations faster.
How It Works
Tie your tippet setup before fishing, wrap it onto a Drift Spool, and store it inside the QuickDrift Magnetic Storage Shell. On the water, pull the Drift Spool you need, connect the pre-rigged setup to the Quick Connect on your leader, spiral/snap it into place, and get back to fishing.
The Quick Connect attaches to your leader. Your pre-rigged tippet setup connects to the Quick Connect.
The loop of your pre-rigged tippet setup goes over the Quick Connect and spirals/snaps into place. This lets you change setups without rebuilding everything from scratch on the water.
No. QuickDrift moves more of the tying into your prep. You still tie your tippet setups before fishing, but QuickDrift helps you store those setups and change them faster when conditions shift.
On-Water Use
Yes. QuickDrift is designed to help you carry different pre-rigged tippet setups so you can change presentations faster. You can prep dry fly, nymph, streamer, or alternate setups before the trip and keep them ready on Drift Spools.
QuickDrift does not lock you into one depth. You can prep multiple subsurface setups ahead of time for different depths, weights, or strike indicator positions, and you can still make normal on-water adjustments when needed. The advantage is that your next setup is already built and organized instead of starting from scratch.
No. Newer anglers benefit from the organization and simplicity, but experienced anglers benefit from faster changes when depth, hatch activity, fish behavior, or presentation needs change.
No. You still choose the fly, tippet, depth, and presentation. QuickDrift simply helps you prep ahead, stay organized, and change faster when it matters.
Quick Connects and Accessories
Floating Quick Connects are built for surface presentations where you want the connection to stay up with the rig. Sinking Quick Connects are built for subsurface presentations where you want the connection to sink with the setup.
Drift Spools store your pre-rigged tippet setups so they stay organized and ready before conditions change. Each QuickDrift System includes 24 Drift Spools.
You do not need extra Drift Spools to start using QuickDrift. The system includes 24. Extra Drift Spools are useful if you want to prep more setups ahead of time, organize different presentation options, or keep additional rigs ready for future trips.
The QuickDrift System includes Floating and Sinking Quick Connects in Standard and Micro sizes. Extra Quick Connects are useful if you want backups, want to rig multiple leaders, or prefer to keep additional options ready for different presentations.
